The parents of a 6-year-old boy with leukemia are hoping to get the child a haircut by the end of the month, but the reaction has been met with disbelief and sadness on social media.
The child was reportedly told by his family to get his hair cut in the hospital by a staff member after they discovered he had leukemia.
The staff member allegedly told him that they did not have a hair cut that day, according to local news station WSMV.
The family has filed a lawsuit against the hospital and the hospital’s parent company, the American Cancer Society, claiming negligence and breach of contract.
They are asking for unspecified damages.
The lawsuit also alleges that the American Lung Association is responsible for not providing adequate treatment for the boy.
